Frequently Asked Questions

What is Direct Primary Care?

Direct Primary Care is a membership based primary care medical practice. Patients enroll and  pay a flat monthly  membership fee.  Membership fees cover well and sick appointments with the physician, many procedures, and routine labs. Patients have increased access, longer appointment times, and a relationship with their physician.  Insurance is not accepted. Labwork and other auxillary procedures are performed at reduced and straightforward pricing.

Are you accepting new patients?

Currently, we have a waitlist for new patients. If you are interested in joining our practice for your business please contact us. If you are interested in membership, please fill out the form to join our waitlist and our office will contact you once space has become available.

Do you take insurance?

No. Crossbridge DPC does not accept insurance. Patients cannot file claims with Medicare for services provided. Patients are encouraged to have catastrophic health insurance to cover incidences or issues outside the scope of primary care. Although Crossbridge DPC does not process or accept insurance for membership or services rendered, fees associated with auxiliary procedures, laboratory work (not covered by membership), specialty referral costs, medicine, or durable medical equipment could qualify for reimbursement or inclusion under individual insurance plans, medical cost sharing plans, or paid through HSA accounts.  Crossbridge DPC would not be responsible for eligibility determination or submission of any claims.

What kind of fees are associated with membership?

One -time initial enrollment fees are $125 per individual/family. Membership rates start as low as $50 per person/month and range between $50-$90 per person/month.  Membership fees are adjusted for age based on the typical complexity and necessary care for a given age group. There is a family maximum of $350/month. Auxiliary services such as lab work, pathology, medications, equipment, or procedures may by included with membership or require additional fees. These costs are lower than traditional billing models due to a lack of overhead and administrative fees.

Who would be a good fit for a DPC practice?

Individuals, families, and businesses who want a relationship with their provider and increased access for appointments with a known/fixed cost. Often these individuals have a catastrophic insurance plan with a high deductable.

Which age groups are treated by Crossbridge DPC?

All ages, pediatric to geriatric care, are covered by Dr. Overby.  For pediatric patients, we have teamed up with a pediatrician, Dr. Rebecca Shoaf, of BridgeWay Pediatrics. She works in the same office.

Does Crossbridge DPC make house calls?

Absolutely! For that matter,  Dr. Overby can meet a busy mom at a park to do a sports physical. For elderly patients in skilled nursing facilities or assisted living care, a house call may be preferred to assess the home environment for fall risk.

I have a busy schedule. Are appointments available outside of typical business (9-5) hours?

Yes. Dr. Overby can schedule an in person appointment with you before or after typical business hours or on a Saturday, if needed. He is also available via text, voice or video calls to discuss your health concerns. For employee members, he will regularly visit your place of employment and can meet with you there.

Can I enroll the employees of my business?

Yes. Crossbridge DPC has Business Memberships available. These memberships give employers the opportunity to improve employee health care and add value through relationship focused primary care at a low, fixed, monthly, employee rate. If you are interested in hearing more about business memberships, please contact us.
